In search of a recipe for quality
Quality - this is what not only every software owner is looking for, but also the user. When I start working with Getaway, I see a lot of challenges in terms of the efficiency and flexibility of the process of finding and then booking accommodation. Personalisation of the customer experience is proving to be a key requirement.
Traditional methods do not meet the criteria, making it difficult to find a suitable facility quickly. Our aim is to create a solution that not only increases Getaway's operational efficiency, but also raises the quality of the service provided. The challenge is to find a simple, cost-optimising solution.
The future is already here, or AI in TravelTech
Integrating GPT's advanced chat API is proving crucial to our project at Getaway. Harnessing the potential of this technology allows us to design an intelligent tool to support the facility search and booking process.
Our goal is to create an AI-based environment that generates personalised prompts that generate recommendations for users, ideally tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
Designing an AI-based solution
Our team focuses on designing and parameterising prompts that meet the specific needs of travellers using Getaway. The first step is to integrate the GPT chat API. We then select a number of test business processes, which we decompose into a prompt format, creating an MVP.
The production implementation of the first prompt allows us to verify gaps and refine the scheme. We monitor the results, gather feedback and adapt our solution to ensure maximum usability and accuracy of performance.
Developing an optimal solution leads us to our goal of creating a bank of prompts that can be used in the future.
A bank of propmts - or AI supports the Getaway team
The number of prompts required to create the optimum solution for the Getaway project resulted in the need to create a prompt bank. These are prompt templates covering a variety of parameters that can be freely modified.
Example: Find all highly rated cafes on the line connecting <attraction/site name> and <hotel name> (<hotel address>) and sort the result from the best rated facility descending.
Personalising searches with AI
AI enables improvements to be implemented for user queries such as:
- search for the distance (in metres) of a hotel to beaches in a particular region
- search for the nearest hotel car parks and their distances in metres
- searching for transport links between A and B in a given city (e.g. recommended means of transport)
- assigning scores to flights based on flight parameters such as flight length, price, connecting times, connecting airports or effective time at destination.
Effect of AI implementation at Getaway
Increasing the level of personalisation allows for increased customer loyalty and satisfaction. Users gain faster access to recommendations that meet their needs, which also translates into operational efficiency for the company.
Getaway, in turn, receives new functionality at the interface between the Getaway system and Chat GPT, which acts as a backoffice assistant for the team. The result is the transfer of some business processes to external AI tools. Previously, they remained difficult or impossible to solve with previous external integrations.
As a result, Getaway is gaining investor interest. Importantly, integration with GPT's Chat API is easy to update and further develop.
The innovative approach not only improves the traveller experience, but also strengthens the company's market position.
